Ski and Snowboard Coach
Alexandra has over 6 years experience coaching children and adults in skiing and snowboarding. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the physical mechanics behind the sport, and the ability to translate them into language understood by beginner's in order for them to feel it in their bodies. Alexandra's passion for the sport, and infinite compassion and patience for her coachee's creates a fun and effective style of coaching.
Alexandra has been skiing since she was 2 years old. She was trained in ski and snowboard school in Beaver Creek, CO throughout her childhood which has given her the technique and skill-set that she now passes on to others. |
Contemplative Practices: Meditation and other Mindfulness Practices
“When you open yourself to the continually changing, impermanent, dynamic nature of your own being and of reality, you increase your capacity to love and care about other people and your capacity to not be afraid. You're able to keep your eyes open, your heart open, and your mind open. And you notice when you get caught up in prejudice, bias, and aggression. You develop an enthusiasm for no longer watering those negative seeds, from now until the day you die. And, you begin to think of your life as offering endless opportunities to start to do things differently.”
― Pema Chödrön, Practicing Peace in Times of War Neuroscience: The Brain & Behavior
“Each of us needs periods in which our minds can focus inwardly. Solitude is an essential experience for the mind to organize its own processes and create an internal state of resonance. In such a state, the self is able to alter its constraints by directly reducing the input from interactions with others. (p. 235)”
